  Malbec, Cabernet, Merlot
"Typically dark and purple, this Malbec dominant Bordeaux blend has clean aromas of plums, spice and violets with vanillin oak notes.  The palate has a smooth and dense mouth-feel with sweet ripe fruit and ample soft fine tannin.  More plum flavours, dark berry fruit and cedary, spicy oak."

The excellant 2006 (****1/2 stars)  is boldly coloured , highly concentrated, very fresh and vibrant, with blackcurrant, plum and spice flavours, a hint of mint, and a subtle oak influence. Dense, ripe and savoury, with gentle tannins, its well worth cellaring.

“Clean and pure nose showing sweet creamy berry fruit, with complexities of cedar, leather, and vanilla.

A focused palate with clean fruit expression, light tannin, and restrained use of oak.”

"The 2004 vintage (four star) is a deeply coloured blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc, grown at Onetangi, on Waiheke Island, and matured in two-year-old French (70 percent) and American oak casks.

Perfumed, with slightly coconutty wood aromas, it is generous and warm, with ripe black currant, plum and spice flavours, oak complexity, and structure to mature well. Best drinking 2007+.”
