Stephen White

Graduating with a Diploma in Horticulture at Lincoln, University of Canterbury, Stephen then blasted off to sea on the Round The World Yacht Race in search of the meaning of life. He found it sitting under an olive tree in Tuscany, with a glass of red wine in hand… and so Stonyridge was conceived.

Charl Van Wyk

With a background working as a Wine Buyer as well as managing high end hotels in the UK, he brings a combination of experience like no other. He comes highly qualified with a WSET Level 4 Diploma in Wines & Spirits and also has experience working vintages in the Clare Valley (Australia), Stellenbosch (South Africa) and the UK.

Wine Production Manager

Martin Pickering

Martin started his career at Goldwater Estate back in 1992 and has worked on vintages in Pomerol, St Emilion & the Napa Valley. He returned to Waiheke in 2004 as winemaker of Mudbrick vineyard where he produced two trophies, twenty gold medals and dozens of other awards. He now heads up the winemaking team at Stonyridge and is a great friend to us all.

Dayne Stagg

Dayne joined the Stonyridge team in 2008 with the enthusiasm to keep his hometown firmly on the global wine map. With experience in over ten vintages on Waiheke Island and a passion for organic viticulture, you are sure to find Dayne and the team working tirelessly in the vineyard to ensure greatness reaches every bottle of Stonyridge wine.

Christine Samuels

After working for several successful local Waiheke businesses over her past 12 years on the island. Chrissy joined the Stonyridge team in November 2013. While it was Stonyridge’s values and fine wine that initially won Chrissy’s heart, our fun-loving and ambitious atmosphere has happily kept her in our office ever since!

Mario Dervishaj

Mario came to Stonyridge Vineyard in 2015 bringing more than 10 years of culinary experience with him. From 2 Michelin starred restaurants to relaxed traditional Italian kitchens, Mario has worked around the world including in kitchen in Italy, Austria, France, Australia and Germany. Mario’s ethos and menu creation is very much based around using fresh, local, healthy ingredients to create simple but flavour packed dishes. Marios’ love of flavours, freshness and colours show through in his menus and are at home with the ethos of Stonyridge Vineyard.

Events & Marketing Manager

Audrey Ferguson

It has been 7 years that Audrey 1st started at Stonyridge, first as a simple runner she quickly stepped up to the tasting lounge manager position. With Rachel away on maternity leaves, it is with great energy & curiosity that Audrey will be back to take over the Events & Marketing manager position this Summer!  Originally from the Champagne region where she studied International trade of wine & spirits, Audrey is not limited only to the knowledge of Champagne, as she loves all the products that the wine industry has to offer!

Restaurant Manager

Gilda

Originally from Italy, Gilda has traveled largely following her love for wine, food and culture. She has assumed many roles throughout her career in different countries, gathering experience as hospitality professional. She joined Stonyridge on 2018, after a sip of Larose. When not “on the floor”, Gilda can be found at the beach or hunting new wines to taste.

Davide Mazzocchini

After over 10 years working in the hospitality industry and with several experiences managing successful fast paced restaurants in Italy as in Australia and New Zealand, Davide joined Stonyridge in 2018. Since he has discovered the great values that rule the Stonyridge family he is determined to take the team through the new busy seasons promoting top quality and fun experience for all our visitors.

Rachel Kraft

Rachel joined Stonyridge in November 2013 after working in 5 star hotels in New Zealand and Australia. With a Degree in International Hotel Management and Hospitality, Rachel has experience in numerous parts of this industry and is here, ready to help you create an event, function or wedding that will leave you smiling with lasting memories.
